It stands on what appears to be an original military or surveying tripod, steel, extendable, chain-braced between the legs for stability, its ground spikes still sharp, a pairing of two genuine antique objects that found each other rather than being manufactured together. The tripod's adjustable height and the searchlight's tilting mount mean the beam can still be directed, the piece still positioned, a working light that simply changed what it illuminates.

Lit, it casts a broad, warm amber glow through its aged lens, the colour deepened by decades of glass patina into something richer and more golden than any new fitting could produce. It fills a room the way a lighthouse fills a night, not with precision, but with presence.
