The Blue Meter Lamp
This piece has a colour story as much as a material one, and it runs in blue, from the ground up.
At its base sits a genuine salvaged blue flanged wheel, its original paint worn and chipped into an honest patina, its spoked form grounding the piece with real industrial weight. The blue thread continues upward through the column, reappearing in a genuine reclaimed water meter mounted mid-shaft, its cobalt body and brass dial face carrying the same working-pipe authenticity as the base below. Between them, a salvaged red valve handle punctuates the composition with a deliberate counterpoint, the same red that appears throughout this collection, here given particular force against the surrounding blue.
Above the meter, a large genuine pressure gauge sits at the branching point of two asymmetric light arms, its wide white face calm and authoritative between two wire cage heads of deliberately different styles, one a classic tapered cage, one a more open cylindrical form, a detail that gives the piece genuine character, as though these two heads were found at different times and brought together without apology.
The result is one of the collection's most layered compositions: two shades of salvaged blue, one flash of red, warm brass throughout, and two points of warm filament light at its crown, a piece that rewards attention at every level from base to bulb.
As with every piece here, each component was genuinely reclaimed from working life. This exact configuration exists once and will never be repeated.
