At the heart of this piece sits a genuine reclaimed maritime engine order dial, its brass face and hand-painted markings worn to a deep, aged patina beneath a domed glass cover. The needle remains fixed in its original resting position, a small frozen moment from a working vessel long since retired. Mounted on a wide four-point pipe frame, the dial anchors the piece with real nautical weight.
From the dial's housing, a single vertical pipe rises and branches into four separate arms, each hand-bent through its own path before terminating in a cage-guarded pendant bulb — the four lights staggered at different heights and angles, giving the piece the restless, asymmetric energy of ship rigging rather than a conventional fixture. An original red-handled shutoff valve sits fitted along the base run, retained exactly as found. The entire assembly rests on a textured metal plate base.
No two engine telegraphs age or mark the same way, and this dial's face cannot be replaced or recreated. Four lights, one reclaimed instrument, one configuration — built once, and existing only once.
