Gone Racing
There are objects that arrive in a room and immediately change the conversation — this is one of them, and it does so without saying a word, because everything worth saying is already written in rust and patina across the surface of two genuine salvaged engine blocks that sit beneath its glass top like relics under museum glass, one still wearing its original red paint worn to a deep, almost volcanic surface, the other aged into dark verdigris and shadow, their bolt holes and casting marks and valve covers all intact, all honest, all evidence of a machine that once ran hard and hot and fast before someone recognised that its retirement deserved better than a scrapyard.

Two engines. One glass top. The fastest table in the room, going nowhere.
