The head of this piece is a genuine reclaimed ship's searchlight, its bronze housing carrying a deep, weathered patina earned through years of exposure to salt air and open water. A protective wire cage, hand-fitted in its original grid pattern, guards the full face of the lens, while the side-mounted controls and swivel arm remain untouched — fitted exactly as they were found. Light passes through the aged glass in a warm, scattered glow, catching every scratch and mark left behind by decades of use.

The searchlight is joined to its tripod by the original mounting yoke and a small salvaged length of chain, once used to steady it in rough conditions. The tripod itself is genuine, its telescoping wooden legs finished in a deep aged bronze-black, tapering to worn iron-shod feet. Height-adjustable joints and a cross-brace chain remain fully functional, giving the piece real mechanical presence beyond its role as a light source.

No two searchlights weather to quite the same tone, and this particular head and tripod were paired by hand as one surviving set. This exact configuration exists once, and only once.
