The base of this piece is the genuine housing of a vintage car radio and dashboard unit, its deep gloss-blue casing preserved exactly as found, complete with its original dual analog dials, illuminated display, and full set of working control knobs. Nothing has been altered or restyled — the piece retains every detail of its original dashboard identity, chrome bezels included, as a direct record of the object it once was.
From the top of the housing, a network of aged brass and blackened pipe rises and branches in three directions, each hand-bent through its own sequence of turns before ending in a cage-guarded pendant bulb, the three lights staggered at different heights and angles across the piece. A salvaged pressure gauge sits mounted high on the pipework, its dial and needle preserved untouched, adding a second layer of found instrumentation to the piece. The whole assembly rests directly on the radio unit's base, connected by a run of blackened pipe feet.
No dashboard unit carries the same dial wear or casing gloss twice, and this particular housing, gauge, and pipe run were shaped entirely around what survived. This is a singular object, existing in exactly one configuration.
