Where its companion piece places a single lantern at the helm, this one builds an entire instrument cluster there.

The wheel is a genuine antique ship's helm, its hardwood rim and eight turned spokes darkened by decades of salt air and handling, its original brass hub plate still centred at the point where all the spokes converge. It is a larger, more heavily weathered wheel than its sibling in the collection, its surface carrying the full weight of a working maritime life rather than the relative preservation of a display piece, and that rawness gives it a different character entirely.

From the hub, a short pipe network branches downward into three independent arms, each holding a wire cage and a warm filament bulb. Between them, a genuine reclaimed pressure gauge sits at the center of the composition, its dial face reading at the exact point where a helmsman's hands would once have gripped the wheel, an instrument of pressure now surrounded by instruments of light, at the very heart of an object built for navigation.

Where the Ship's Wheel Wall Light is quietly poetic, this piece is openly dramatic, three sources of warm cage light glowing against weathered dark timber, the hub transformed from navigation center to lighting rig, the wheel itself becoming the frame for an entirely industrial composition.

Two ship's wheels, two philosophies of transformation, one collection. This one chose to fill its center with light.
