The base of this piece is a genuine reclaimed portable suitcase turntable, its hinged lid folded open exactly as it was found, original paper tuning charts still fixed inside each flap. The record platter, tone arm, and cream-coloured control panel remain fully intact, every knob and switch preserved from a machine that once spun music from room to room.
From the deck's centre, a network of blackened pipe rises and branches in four directions, each hand-bent through its own sequence of turns before ending in a cage-guarded pendant bulb, the four lights staggered at different heights across the piece like branches on a single trunk. A salvaged utility meter sits fixed at the centre of the pipework, its dial and register window preserved untouched — a small, unexpected detail lifted from an entirely different piece of reclaimed machinery. Four short pipe legs raise the whole case slightly off the surface.
No turntable case ages or wears the same way twice, and this particular deck, meter, and pipe run were shaped entirely around what survived. This is a singular object, existing in exactly one configuration.
