This is a shop or pharmacy scale of real age and genuine character, the kind that once sat on a counter and gave an honest reading to anyone who needed to know the true weight of something. It has not been cleaned or restored, every mark it carries is real, and that is precisely the point.
From the scale's brass top, a salvaged steel pipe structure rises and immediately branches into two independent arms of different character — one reaching high and left with a coiled flexible conduit section that gives it mechanical expressiveness, the other dropping lower and to the right on a straight arm — each carrying a wire cage shade and a warm filament bulb. Between them, a genuine reclaimed pressure gauge extends on a left-side brass arm, its aged dial face matching the scale's own quiet authority, while a salvaged red valve handle adds its familiar accent of colour at the branching point.
Two light heads, two different arms, one scale that once measured everything. The composition has the informal logic of something assembled with care rather than designed with intention, which is exactly what it is.
