The base of this lamp is the cast body of a genuine mid-century water pump, its surface carrying a deep, mottled green-bronze patina built up over decades of outdoor service. The original manufacturer's casting mark remains pressed into the iron, left legible as a quiet record of provenance, while a weathered mounting flange at its foot still shows the wear of the machinery it was once bolted to.

From the pump's body, a run of aged brass and blackened pipe rises in a sequence of hand-turned bends, passing through an original red-handled shutoff valve — fully functional in appearance, retained exactly as found — before reaching a cage-guarded pendant bulb at its peak. Set low on the pipework, a salvaged pressure gauge sits untouched, its dial and needle original, angled outward as if still mid-reading. The whole composition rests on a reclaimed timber base, giving the piece the quiet authority of machinery at work rather than an object made to merely decorate.

No two pumps age the same way, and no two valves wear identically. This lamp exists in exactly one form, built entirely from what survived — nothing reproduced, nothing recreated.
