Gone Drinking
Where the first version carried its history in brass and verdigris, this one carries it in iron and rust, its surface consumed by age it has become translucent, a lantern of rust and light that illuminates the room the way a setting sun illuminates a ruin, warmly and without apology. The pressure vessel has been opened at its side to become shelving; the pipe network that once carried something vital now carries wire and water; the massive riveted steel door standing open beside it confirms what the entire space already knows — that this is not a bathroom designed to look industrial, but an industrial space that was given the dignity of design, and every salvaged component in it, from gauge to shade to vessel, has earned its place by having already lived somewhere harder and more honest than here.
