The body of this piece is a genuine reclaimed conical metal shade, its surface carrying the soft, mottled darkening of age — no polish, no artificial patina, only the natural record of a material left to weather over years. A brass banding ring circles its widest point, the last trace of its original manufacture, still intact and unaltered.

Beneath the shade, an exposed filament bulb sits protected within a salvaged wire cage, its curved bars catching the light and casting soft shadows outward. The whole fixture hangs from a length of aged twisted-link chain, connected by a weathered iron ring — a suspension method drawn directly from industrial signal and warehouse lighting, chosen for its honesty rather than its polish. Nothing about the hang, the shade, or the cage was reproduced; each element was sourced, matched, and fitted as found.

This shade exists in exactly one condition, one patina, one form. Once installed, its particular weathering and proportions will not be seen in any other piece.
