The body of this piece is a genuine reclaimed black rotary telephone, its glossy casing and original dial preserved exactly as found, the coiled cord still hanging from its handset, cracked and worn with real age. Every original detail — the rotary numbers, the chrome accents, the handset's own scuffs — has been left entirely intact, a direct and honest record of decades of use.

Rising from the telephone's crown, a single length of aged pipe carries a domed metal shade above an exposed filament bulb, its warm light spilling downward. Beside it, a salvaged pressure gauge sits fixed to the pipework at an angle, its dial and needle preserved untouched, catching the glow of the bulb across its face. The whole piece stands on a slender pipe column, planted into the wide, ridged rim of an original red-painted valve wheel — repurposed here as a base, its faded crimson paint chipped and worn from years of turning.

No telephone casing wears the same scuffs twice, and this particular valve wheel carries its own individual paint loss. This is a singular assembly, existing in exactly one form.
